Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Floral Design Skills

  • Creating beautiful arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, funerals, events, and everyday needs.
  • Knowledge of different flower types, foliage, and materials to craft aesthetically pleasing designs.
  • Ability to customize arrangements based on customer preferences or themes.

2. Customer Service

  • Welcoming and assisting customers with warmth and professionalism.
  • Understanding customer needs to recommend the best flowers or arrangements.
  • Handling inquiries, special requests, or complaints with care and empathy.

3. Creativity

  • Thinking outside the box to design unique and innovative floral arrangements.
  • Combining colors, textures, and patterns harmoniously.
  • Staying updated with trends in floral design and seasonal themes.

4. Plant and Flower Care

  • Knowledge of proper care and handling of flowers to maintain freshness and longevity.
  • Preparing flowers by cutting, watering, and treating them for display or delivery.
  • Understanding seasonal availability and sustainability practices.

5. Time Management

  • Managing multiple orders and meeting tight deadlines for events or same-day deliveries.
  • Prioritizing tasks during busy periods, such as holidays or wedding seasons.

6. Organizational Skills

  • Keeping the workspace clean and organized, including tools, materials, and inventory.
  • Maintaining accurate records of orders, sales, and inventory levels.

7. Sales and Upselling

  • Recommending complementary items like vases, ribbons, or cards to increase sales.
  • Promoting special offers, seasonal products, or gift packages to customers.
  • Assisting customers with purchases in-store or online.

8. Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Working closely with colleagues to fulfill large orders or prepare for events.
  • Coordinating with delivery staff to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

9. Physical Stamina

  • Standing for long periods and handling the physical demands of arranging flowers.
  • Lifting and transporting flower buckets, vases, or large arrangements.

10. Attention to Detail

  • Ensuring arrangements meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Noticing and addressing imperfections in flowers or designs.

11. Adaptability

  • Adjusting to last-minute order changes or unexpected challenges.
  • Handling a variety of tasks, from arranging flowers to managing inventory.

12. Knowledge of Symbolism and Occasions

  • Understanding the meanings of flowers and their cultural significance.
  • Recommending appropriate arrangements for specific occasions, such as sympathy bouquets, romantic gifts, or festive decorations.

13. Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with floral tools like floral foam, wire, and cutting tools.
  • Using point-of-sale (POS) systems and scheduling software for order management.

Desired candidate profile

  • Prepares arrangements / vases for guestrooms, functions, and public areas
  • Replaces, maintains, and delivers arrangements / vases as required
  • Maintains flower / arrangements containers clean and in good condition
  • Attends to outside customers and guests courteously, promptly while maximizing sales
  • Prepares floral arrangements for in-house wedding parties, as required
  • Assists in taking inventories of equipment and flowers
  • Maintains working area and equipment in proper state of cleanliness and repair
  • Reports guest complaints to superior immediately
  • Complies with Hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policies and adheres to conduct personal grooming and
  • hygiene standards
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required

What we need from you

  • Basic level of spoken/written English
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar environment (4-5* hotel)
  • Hygiene Certificates
  • Full eye details
  • Flexibility in shifts
