Roles and responsibilities

1. Customer Service Excellence

• Guest Interaction: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, making them feel welcome and valued.
• Communication: Listen attentively to customer preferences and requests to ensure their needs are met efficiently.
• Quick Service: Serve drinks promptly, ensuring customers do not have to wait long for their orders.
• Anticipating Needs: Proactively offer refills or additional items based on guest preferences or behavior.

2. Knowledge of Cocktails and Beverage Menus

• Drink Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of the drink menu, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Upselling: Use knowledge of cocktails and beverages to suggest premium drinks or recommend new or signature cocktails to enhance the guest experience.
• Drink Preparation Basics: Understand the basics of how drinks are made and served, even if you’re not directly making them.

3. Multitasking and Time Management

• Order Management: Juggle multiple tables or guests’ orders efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Prioritizing Tasks: Handle high-volume periods, ensuring timely service without compromising quality.
• Efficiency: Work quickly while maintaining accuracy in taking and delivering orders, especially in busy or crowded environments.

4. Physical Stamina and Dexterity

• Carrying Trays: Be able to carry heavy trays with drinks and food, sometimes for long distances, and serve them without spilling.
• Standing for Long Periods: Be comfortable standing for extended periods during shifts.
• Coordination: Maintain smooth, fluid movements while navigating crowded spaces or busy bar areas.

5. Teamwork and Cooperation

• Collaborating with Other Staff: Work closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with coworkers to ensure orders are correct and any issues are addressed quickly.
• Supporting Colleagues: Step in to help colleagues if they’re overwhelmed, creating a collaborative team environment.

6. Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution

• Handling Complaints: Resolve issues or complaints in a calm and professional manner, offering solutions where necessary.
• Managing Difficult Situations: Remain composed and solution-oriented when dealing with difficult guests or unexpected situations.
• Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive attitude even during challenging or busy shifts to help create a welcoming environment.

7. Attention to Detail

• Order Accuracy: Ensure that all orders are accurately taken and delivered, with correct items and adjustments.
• Presentation: Ensure drinks are presented attractively, with garnishes, glassware, and proper serving styles.
• Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of your serving area, tables, and drinkware at all times.

Desired candidate profile

As a cocktail server at Nobu, you will provide hands-on support and assistance to colleagues to ensure that the best experience is provided to our guests, whilst delivering an exceptional standard of service.

You will be familiar with the complete beverage menu, knowledgeable on all promotional activities. In addition to the above a priority of this role will be to closely monitor the consistency of food and beverage items that are being served to ensure overall service quality, escalating any major problems or complaints to management.

About You

The ideal candidate must have a passion for hospitality with a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a proven track record of working in an exclusive restaurant or bar around the world. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, manage multiple tasks and have confidence in dealing with a diverse set of clienteles.
