Job Description
How does your working day look like …
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the hotel's accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Perform financial analysis and reporting on operational performance.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget adherence.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for external audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in strategic planning and provide financial input for business development initiatives.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

- Preparation of Financial Statements: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Compliance: Ensuring all financial reporting complies with relevant accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

- Recording Transactions: Maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies between ledgers and financial records.

- Budget Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with other departments to gather relevant data.
- Variance Analysis: Analyzing actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying any variances, and providing explanations to management.
- Cost Control: Helping to monitor and control costs by analyzing financial data and recommending cost-saving initiatives.
