Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical/Civil engineer with extensive facilities management experience and knowledge or related courses.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience on site installing and commissioning or supervising as a HVAC Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Civil Engineer.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience at managing a team of engineers, contractors or skilled staff.

Must have technical hands on experience and knowledge of all the below systems:

BMS Systems

Pumping Systems

Water treatment systems

Electrical systems

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems (FAHU, AHU, FCU)

Heat Exchangers

Fire Suppression Systems

Keen eye for detail

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

Strong customer service skills

Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards

Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently

Ability to use common tools

Ability to understand and follow directions as given

Desirable:

Prior experience in a Hotel, Hospitality/Leisure Facility or Construction Company

Electrical, Lighting knowledge

HVAC knowledge

Power Distribution knowledge

Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression knowledge

Civil, minor fit out works knowledge

Plumbing knowledge

Prior experience in a Hotel, Hospitality/Leisure Facility or Construction Company

Implementation, technical & working knowledge of any Facility related Equipment/Devices


Desired candidate profile

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Building Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other critical building infrastructure systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Knowledge of creating, scheduling, and managing maintenance schedules for critical equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Energy Management: Understanding of energy-efficient systems and practices, and the ability to recommend or implement energy-saving measures.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve problems with building systems, reducing downtime and disruptions.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Familiarity with building codes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, EPA) related to hard services.

2. Leadership and Management Skills

  • Team Supervision: Ability to manage and coordinate a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors. This includes task assignment, scheduling, and ensuring performance targets are met.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Helping develop technical staff through training, skill-building, and performance evaluations.
  • Delegation: Distributing tasks efficiently, ensuring that team members are working on appropriate jobs based on their skills and expertise.
  • Contractor Management: Overseeing third-party contractors who may be involved in specialized services like electrical work, HVAC maintenance, or fire safety checks.
