The Highways team includes a portfolio of high-profile projects that include international, national, and regional clients, contractors and various Local Authorities. It provides comprehensive consultancy and engineering services to the highways sector, covering the full spectrum of highway infrastructure requirements, from business case and project development, preliminary appraisal, and feasibility studies through to detailed design, implementation, operational management advice and operations and maintenance.
You will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and implementation of highway-related projects alongside collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. You will be empowered to contribute to the design development process, including concept development, detailed design, and engineering calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and construction teams.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of highway engineering principles, design standards, and traffic engineering concepts.
Civil Engineering Software Proficiency: Expertise in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation for creating detailed roadway designs.
Geometric Design Skills: Ability to design road geometries, including alignment, cross-sections, and profiles, to optimize traffic flow and safety.
Traffic Analysis: Skills in conducting traffic studies, capacity analysis, and simulation to inform design decisions.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., AASHTO, FHWA) governing highway design.
Environmental Awareness: Understanding of environmental considerations and the ability to conduct impact assessments related to highway projects.
Project Management: Basic project management skills to oversee design phases, coordinate with stakeholders, and meet project timelines.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address design challenges and develop effective solutions for complex roadway issues.
