Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen for a Waiter/ess to join the Al Fayrooz Lounge Team at Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Greet guests with warm welcome and smile.
  • Escort them to their tables.
  • Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu.
  • Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable.
  • Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately including any special requests. Inform Kitchen as per the request.
  • Use established food handling and serving techniques as per Jumeirah standard.
  • Responsible for cashiering service such as generating bills from the MICROS system/ presenting guests with fully supported bills or accounts that can be settled by pay approved method, including, and not limited to advance payment, credit/debit card payments, local and foreign currency.



About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English and a second language (Russian, German, Arabic or French) would be an added advantage.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress in a luxury hotel.
  • Food and alcohol handling certifications.

  1. Customer Service: Providing excellent service, being attentive, and addressing customer needs promptly.

  2. Communication: Clearly conveying menu options, specials, and taking orders accurately.

  3. Multitasking: Managing multiple tables and tasks simultaneously, especially during busy periods.

  4. Time Management: Prioritizing tasks to ensure timely service and efficient workflow.

  5. Problem-Solving: Handling customer complaints or issues effectively and calmly.

  6. Attention to Detail: Ensuring orders are correct and paying attention to customer preferences.

  7. Teamwork: Collaborating with kitchen staff and other waitstaff for smooth service.

  8. Menu Knowledge: Familiarity with the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to make recommendations.

  9. Cash Handling: Accurately processing payments and handling cash.

  10. Physical Stamina: Being on your feet for long periods and carrying heavy trays.
