Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Student Level:

  • High School

Eligible Candidates:

  • Licensed Teacher

School Requirements:

  • Education Required: Bachelor
  • Minimum Teaching Experience: 3 years of teaching experience
  • Major: Biology
  • Required Certificates:

    Teaching Credential/License

    TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours

    TESL/TEFL Certificate

Additional School Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a valid teaching certificate/license in content area and related field.
  • A minimum of two years of current, full-time related teaching experience.
  • Teaching experience in an American curriculum school is preferred.
  • IELTS or TOEFL for non-native teachers (6.5 for subjects taught in English & 7.5 for English subjects).
  • Experience with current best practices, teaching materials, instructional strategies, and recent professional growth activities.
  • All Applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or 7 for subjects taught in English.

  • Laboratory Instruction: Proficient in teaching laboratory techniques and safety protocols, facilitating hands-on experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Creating assessments to measure student understanding and using data to inform instructional strategies.

  • Differentiation: Adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of ability and learning styles.

  • Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to analyze data, conduct experiments, and engage in scientific inquiry to solve real-world problems.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex biological concepts clearly and engage students in discussions.

  • Technology Integration: Utilizing educational technology, such as simulations and online resources, to enhance learning experiences.

  • Collaboration: Working with colleagues, administrators, and other staff to create a supportive educational environment and promote interdisciplinary learning.

  • Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with advancements in biology education and scientific research.
