Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Play a key role in implementing corporate tax strategies, projects, and ensuring tax compliance within the corporate tax function of Aldar Group.
  • Provide M&A support and expertise from a corporate tax perspective.

Please note this role is for a UAE national only.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the AVP – Corporate Tax and wider tax team to execute comprehensive Corporate tax strategies aligned with the group's objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the review of the monthly tax provision calculation produced by the system, reconciling it to the ledger.
  • Participate in the end-to-end annual Corporate tax compliance process, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all tax returns.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of deferred tax calculations for the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead transfer pricing initiatives, ensuring compliance with international guidelines and recommending strategies to optimize the company's global tax position.
  • Provide tax expertise during mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and post-transaction integration.
  • Assist in Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR), Pillar 2 and Transfer Pricing (TP) initiatives in Direct / Corporate Tax.
  • Support Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) compliance.
  • Offer guidance on cross-border tax matters, including international tax planning, treaty analysis, and preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in domestic and international tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's tax practices remain compliant and current.
  • Prepare and review tax-related financial reports and disclosures, including tax provision calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to address tax-related inquiries, audits, and projects efficiently.

Qualification And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax or Accounting, in addition to either CTA, ADIT, or ATT qualification.

RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Min of: 2+ years of experience of experience in corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border tax advisory.

Technical And Interpersonal Skills

  • Well versed in ERP Oracle, TRCS & MS office applications
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective team player with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  1. Tax Compliance: Preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  2. Tax Planning: Assisting in tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities for corporate clients, including analyzing the tax implications of various business decisions.

  3. Research and Analysis: Conducting research on tax legislation, regulations, and court cases to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.

  4. Client Interaction: Communicating with clients to gather necessary information, explain tax issues, and provide guidance on tax matters.

  5. Audit Support: Assisting in tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

  6. Financial Statement Analysis: Reviewing financial statements and other documentation to identify tax-related issues and opportunities for clients.

  7. Collaboration: Working closely with other professionals in accounting, finance, and legal to ensure comprehensive tax advice and solutions.

  8. Training and Development: Mentoring junior staff and providing training on tax processes and regulations.

  9. Project Management: Managing multiple tax projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.

  10. Continuous Learning: Staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential impacts on clients.

  1. Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  2. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to assess complex tax issues and provide sound recommendations.

  6. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems, as well as Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.

  7. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  8. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within teams and with clients to achieve objectives.

  9. Project Management: Experience in managing projects, including timelines and deliverables.

  10. Ethical Standards: Strong commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
