Procurement Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Review the RFQ requirements and ensures all the details are available to prepare a bid.
• Updates the bid register to ensure the quality of data.
• Support the bidding team by reviewing the structure, formant, and bid requirements for bid submission to ensure they meet client requirements and are free of errors
• Help in preparing and maintaining latest bid templates and standard documents required for the bidding team.
• Review the bid requirement deadlines and highlights the priority along with the bid team.
• Participate in bid meetings with the team, record the notes and follow up the actions required by bid team.
• Facilitating best practice sharing within Bidding and Procurement and across regions (incl. win / lose reasons etc.)
• Contribute to commodity strategies including supplier segmentation, risk management with focus on cost optimization, quality, and sustainability.
• Close collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary inputs and help evaluate supplier proposals and early involvement.
• Carrying out supplier Performance Evaluations and establish regular communication with suppliers on development and evaluation results.
• Stay updated with market intelligence, continuous Learning and Development with industry best practices and trends in procurement.
• Manage the procurement process, including new vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and order placement.
  

We are looking for innovative and inquisitive Emirati candidates that demonstrate the following:

• An Engineering degree majoring in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 0 - 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and a customer-centric approach are vital for success in this role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the technical specifications and requirements relevant to the products or services being procured.

• Bid Management: Experience in preparing and managing bid documents, including scope definitions, pricing, and compliance with project requirements.

• Market Research: Ability to conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, understand pricing trends, and evaluate product quality.

• Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.

• Cost Estimation: Skills in estimating costs for projects and analyzing bids to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.

• Supplier Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

• Risk Management: Understanding of risk assessment techniques to identify potential risks in procurement processes and develop mitigation strategies.

• Project Management: Experience in managing timelines, budgets, and resources related to procurement and bidding activities.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for presenting proposals, facilitating discussions, and providing updates to stakeholders.

• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in bid submissions and procurement documentation.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and operations, to align procurement strategies with project goals.
