Position Overview: As a Medical Center Receptionist you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service managing administrative tasks and ensuring smooth operations within the medical center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally ensuring a positive first impression of the medical center.
- Manage patient checkin and checkout processes efficiently including verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule appointments for patients ensuring accurate documentation of appointments and maintaining the appointment calendar.
- Answer phone calls and emails promptly and professionally directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members or departments.
- Maintain a tidy and organized reception area ensuring that patient information and confidentiality are upheld at all times.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork including insurance claims and medical history updates.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and address any urgent or critical patient needs promptly.
- Process payments copayments and insurance claims accurately utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing data entry and inventory management as needed.
- Stay informed about medical center services policies and procedures to provide accurate information to patients and visitors.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism escalating issues to appropriate personnel when necessary.
