PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The QA/QC MEP Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control activities for Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works within the project. You will be involved in ensuring that all MEP installations meet the project specifications local regulations and international standards. The engineer will work closely with project teams subcontractors and suppliers to implement quality plans conduct inspections and ensure that the MEP works are executed to the highest standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop implement and maintain the projectspecific QA/QC plans inspection and test plans (ITPs) and quality control procedures for MEP works.
- Ensure that all MEP installations comply with project specifications industry standards and local codes.
- Review and approve MEP material submittals shop drawings and method statements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of MEP installations to ensure compliance with approved designs and quality standards.
- Coordinate and supervise all MEP testing and commissioning activities including HVAC plumbing fire protection and electrical systems.
- Document and report all nonconformances ensuring that corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Liaise with the construction team MEP subcontractors and consultants to resolve qualityrelated issues.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates on QA/QC activities and progress.
- Ensure that all project documentation including inspection reports and test records is properly maintained and submitted.
- Provide training and guidance to site teams on QA/QC best practices and MEP standards.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends standards and technologies related to MEP systems.
- Ensure that all QA/QC activities are carried out in compliance with the companys HSE policies and procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents observed during inspections.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates MUST be immediately available and currently based in the UAE
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry with a focus on MEP works.
- Previous experience working with a main contractor is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems installation procedures and industry standards (e.g. ASHRAE NFPA NEC).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with QA/QC tools and software is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in QA/QC or MEP systems (e.g. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) ASME LEED AP) are advantageous.
