SrPlumbing Engineer

As a Senior Plumbing Engineer you will lead the design development and implementation of plumbing systems for various construction projects. Your role involves collaborating with architects contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure efficient and effective plumbing solutions that meet project requirements codes and standards. You will also provide mentorship to junior engineers and play a key role in project management and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Engineering:
  

  • Lead the design and engineering of complex plumbing systems including water supply drainage waste and vent systems.
    
  • Develop detailed plumbing plans specifications and schedules using industrystandard software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit etc.).
    
  • Ensure designs comply with local state and federal codes and regulations as well as industry standards (e.g. ASME ASTM etc.).
    
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g. HVAC electrical) to integrate plumbing systems seamlessly within the overall project design.
    

• Project Management:
  

  • Manage multiple plumbing projects from conception through completion ensuring they are delivered on time within scope and within budget.
    
  • Prepare and review project proposals cost estimates and resource allocation plans.
    
  • Oversee the preparation of technical documentation including calculations drawings and reports.
    

• Site Supervision:
  

  • Provide onsite supervision and inspection during the installation of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with design specifications.
    
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the construction phase.
    
  • Conduct final inspections and testing of plumbing systems to ensure functionality and safety.
    

• Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients contractors and other stakeholders regarding plumbingrelated aspects of the project.
    
  • Attend project meetings providing technical insights and updates to ensure client satisfaction.
    
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on project progress challenges and solutions.
    

• Mentorship and Leadership:
  

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
    
  • Lead by example in adhering to best practices safety standards and ethical conduct in all engineering activities.
    

• Continuous Improvement:
  

  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends technologies and best practices in plumbing engineering.
    
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements within the engineering department.
    

Qualifications:

• Education:
  

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
    

• Experience:
  

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing engineering with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
    
  • Proven experience in managing largescale commercial residential or industrial projects.
    

• Technical Skills:
  

  • Proficiency in plumbing design software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit).
    
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes standards and regulations.
    
  • Experience with hydronic systems fire protection systems and sustainable plumbing design (LEED certification is a plus).
