Job Details

In this role, you will be responsible for onsite estimation of steel projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. You will work closely with our project management and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.

• In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting project drawings and specifications, conducting material take-offs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for steel projects.
• You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and suppliers, to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of your estimates.
• Being detail-oriented and analytical is essential in this role, as you will be expected to analyze project requirements, evaluate pricing options, and provide recommendations to optimize costs.
• Additionally, you will need to stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to make informed decisions.
  

What you need to be successful

• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities, allowing them to accurately interpret project drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail is key, as you will be responsible for conducting precise material take-offs and cost estimations.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is crucial for creating detailed project layouts and collaborating with architects and engineers.
• Additionally, knowledge of construction estimation software, such as Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff, is highly beneficial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively liaising with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
• The ability to negotiate and collaborate is essential in obtaining accurate information and ensuring the success of projects.
• A customer-centric mindset is also important, as you will be focused on delivering cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements.
