Responsibilities

As an Education Law Associate, you will

• Provide legal counsel to educational institutions on a variety of matters, including student rights, special education, school policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Represent schools in legal proceedings, such as lawsuits, arbitration, and mediations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents on behalf of educational institutions.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to advise clients on potential legal issues and develop strategies to address them.
• Stay abreast of changes in education law and inform clients of potential impacts on their operations.
• Work closely with other members of the legal team to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
• Provide training and guidance to school administrators and staff on legal matters.
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Education Law Associate position will have

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in education law, preferably representing schools.
• Membership in good standing with the State Bar.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• A strong understanding of the legal and regulatory issues affecting educational institutions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
• The ability to manage a diverse caseload and work effectively under pressure.
• A passion for education and a commitment to advocating for the rights of schools and students.
