Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing the purchasing strategy in order to meet the

business needs.

  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value,

delivery schedules and quality.

  • Ensure all projects are within budget, time schedule and standards.
  • Develop relationships with outside suppliers
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all phases of operation are properly

planned and executed in conjunction with the purchasing department.

  • Serve as liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and

customers (as needed).

  • Negotiate contracts and monitor the progress of suppliers to ensure their quality of

service and products

  • Develop forecasts on price trends and their impact on future activities.
  • Ensure that all purchasing activities are carried out with the highest level of ethics and

supplier relations devoid of any practices which could be deemed questionable

business conduct.

  • Direct the work of the department staff.
  • Prepare departmental budget.

Qualifications

  • BS in supply chain management, purchasing, business, or other related

discipline.

  • 7-10 years progressive purchasing experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish internal and external key relationships.
  • Experience in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contract terms and conditions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects.
  • Experience with MAPCIS and AS400 system, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
