Pediatric Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Conduct consultations with young patients and their families to assess surgical needs and determine the best course of treatment
• Perform surgeries on infants, children, and adolescents for a variety of conditions such as birth defects, injuries, and diseases
• Monitor patients during and after surgery to ensure proper recovery and healing
• Collaborate with other medical specialists including pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide comprehensive care
• Utilize the latest surgical techniques and technology to enhance patient outcomes and minimize risks
• Stay updated on advancements in pediatric surgery through continued education and attending conferences and workshops
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients, treatments, and progress
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with information and support throughout their surgical journey
  

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited university
• Completed residency in general surgery and fellowship in pediatric surgery
• Board certification in pediatric surgery
• Valid state medical license
• Experience in performing pediatric surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries
• Strong understanding of child development and how it relates to surgical treatment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
