Lead Structures Computational Designer

• Lead the development and implementation of computational design processes for structural and facade systems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to create optimized and innovative design solutions.
• Utilize advanced computational tools and software (e.g., Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo, Python) to automate and enhance design workflows.
• Develop parametric models and scripts to support design exploration and optimization.
• Analyze and interpret complex data sets to inform design decisions and improve project outcomes.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, models, and specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in computational design techniques and best practices.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in computational design and structural engineering.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards within the organization.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in computational design, with a focus on structures and facades.
• Proficiency in computational design software
  • Expert with Revit BIM
  • Familiar with TEKLA Structures
  • (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Python). Expert with Rhino, Grasshopper Scripting and Rhino Inside Revit.
  • Structural analysis software such as Strand7, SAP2000, ETABS and StatiCa.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
• Strong understanding of bridge, structural and facade engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex data sets.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions on time and within budget.
• Portfolio showcasing relevant computational design projects and innovation
• Proficient with Python programming
• Ability to develop automation tools and implement best practice within the business to help grow our global computational design team.
• Ability to manipulate complex geometries and lead development of engineering solutions on challenging projects.
