We are hiring for a VP, Head of Trading Technology on our Fidelity Digital Assets℠ team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned trading leader to help build and grow an international trading system for digital asset products. We are looking for a strong technology leader to manage a 70 person team with an excellent engineering mindset, strong collaboration and team building skills.

The Role

The Vice President, Head of Trading Technology will be responsible for an existing trading team that is building out a cloud-based digital asset trading platform while driving and supporting our existing platform capabilities currently used by our client base. This key leadership positions works closely with our product management organization to provide best in class trading solutions to our digital asset customers. This role will involve partner & stakeholder engagement, design and release support, strong networking and relationship skills, strong team building and engineering leadership development.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation, performance, agility, and scale in trading technology.
  • Lead and mentor product-focused technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Engineering Oversight: Drive continuous improvement in development and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product functionality, user experience, platform stability and resiliency.
  • Organize team engagement around the agile operating model with a focus on building a culture of self-sufficiency and continuous delivery.

The Expertise And Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
  • At least 18 years of software engineering experience with a majority of that in trading technologies.
  • Strong background in designing and delivering low latency trading systems.
  • Knowledge of WebSocket and FIX protocols.
  • Experience and knowledge in building matching engine, OMS/EMS or exchange-connectivity platform.
  • Experience in ultra-low latency design patterns and optimizing trading systems.
