Finance Manager

Responsibilities

The role involves the execution of duties to the highest possible standards. It is expected that the role will include but not be limited to the following key functions:

• Lead the tax regulatory compliance across the ME&A region, including timely filing of accurate tax and related returns (income tax, WHT, VAT, Country-by-Country reporting, Transfer Pricing submissions etc);
• Manage tax assessments, audits and inspections, and own the relationship with internal and external tax consultants;
• Lead the design and implementation of processes surrounding tax compliance, maintaining robust reconciliations and documentation to satisfy tax and finance regulatory requirements;
• Provide advice to the finance and non-finance business operations on tax-related queries and implications for new and ongoing client/supplier projects;
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of tax numbers to corporate teams internally, and periodic tax budgeting/forecasting for internal reporting;
• Support the Director of Finance Controllership on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis;
• Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders;
• Manage subordinates ensuring their career development and coaching.
  
  

Technical Competencies

Essential

• Fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or other recognised Accounting qualification;
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in the ME&A region, with experience of working in a tax & compliance lead role for a construction/engineering consultancy organisation;
• Sound knowledge of ME&A tax regulations and requirements;
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools;
• High standard of (numerical) presentation skills;
• Excellent communication in English (both written and oral).
• Experience of interacting with multiple businesses and finance functions;
• Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment;
  
  

Desirable

• Working knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle.
• Big 4 experience as a senior associate or above.
• Grasp over Arabic language will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Data Modelling, PowerPivot and PowerBI tools is an advantage.
