Job Description
- Build and lead a team of Data Scientists to deliver advanced offline and real-time machine learning solutions and data pipelines.
- Develop and implement data science and AI strategies in alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with Product Leadership and Core Engineering teams to manage project schedules, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and other functions to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Drive initiatives that promote innovation and technical excellence within the data science team.
- Hire, retain, and develop high-performing data scientists and engineers.
- Coach and motivate the team to achieve high productivity and teamwork, ensuring individual potential is maximized.
- Interface with internal teams to prioritize features and functionality based on business priorities and available resources.
- Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data science and/or machine learning.
- At least 5 years of hands-on people management experience, leading high-performing teams of engineers, scientists, and/or engineering managers.
- Strong experience in data management, including building and scaling data lake management systems and data pipelines.
- Expertise in data curation and ethical sourcing of data, with a thorough understanding of data privacy regulations.
- Proven track record in product management, delivering successful products and features in the AI/ML space.
- Experience in building AI architectures and deploying scalable AI models.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency with agile development methodologies and best practices for software development.
- Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
- Experience in the marketplace industry or a strong interest in the marketplace space.
