Position: Ship Repair Project Engineer

Nationality: Arabic

job Location: Dubai

Candidate Location: GCC (should be ready to relocate to Dubai)

Job Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans outlining tasks timelines resource requirements and budgets.

Coordinate with internal teams subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and resources.

Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Technical Oversight: Review repair specifications drawings and technical documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and client expectations.

Provide technical guidance to project teams and resolve engineering issues that may arise during the repair process.

Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify the integrity of repair work and adherence to quality standards.

Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Identify costsaving opportunities and efficiencies without compromising on quality and safety.

Prepare cost estimates change orders and progress reports for clients and internal stakeholders.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in repair activities.

Ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations industry standards and classification society requirements.

Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

Client Communication and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients providing regular updates on project progress milestones and any deviations from the original plan.

Address client inquiries concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Foster strong relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Motivate staff towards high performance

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to optimize future project outcomes.

Stay abreast of industry trends technological advancements and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.

Proven experience in project management preferably in the maritime or ship repair industry.

Strong understanding of ship systems marine engineering principles and repair techniques.

Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Commitment to safety quality and customer satisfaction.
