Job Summary:
Perform specialist simulation analyses for concept studies, detail designs, evaluations, and testing as and when required for the mechanical engineering department. Use analysis results to influence and improve designs for optimal performance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform simulation analyses for concept studies, detail designs, evaluations, and testing as and when required in the Mechanical engineering field;
- Perform precise engineering calculations using theoretical methods as well as computational simulations;
- Influence and improve designs based on analysis and interpretation of results;
- Devise, organize and ensure engineering arrangements and revisions;
- Aid in the establishment and acceptance of testing processes;
- Evaluate the performance of mechanical equipment against set performance requirements;
- Mentor and monitor mechanical engineers;
- Steer and support technical personnel reporting to your function to deliver on their responsibilities as designated by the Lead Engineer.
Experience & Education Qualifications:
- At least 12 yr. (Bachelor’s), 10 yr. (Master’s) or 9 yr. (PhD) of related experience, preferably, in the aerospace industry
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree and/or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Knowledge in the application of CAE in the design process
- A thorough understanding of defense product development and production
- Visual and spatial awareness, attention to detail, problem solving
- Strong CAE, math and Product Data Management skills
- Technical communication (Written and oral.) with technical and non-technical personnel, suppliers and customers
