ROLE SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a qualified Geotechnical Inspector to join our team for an exciting Airport project. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering and extensive experience working on Airport projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful completion of a major infrastructure project while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct thorough inspections of geotechnical aspects of the Airport project, including earthwork, foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability.
2. Monitor and evaluate soil conditions, groundwater levels, and other geotechnical parameters to identify potential risks and issues.
3. Perform field tests and laboratory analysis of soil and rock samples to assess their engineering properties and suitability for construction.
4. Review geotechnical reports, design drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
5. Collaborate closely with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address geotechnical concerns and implement effective solutions.
6. Provide technical support and guidance to construction crews regarding proper excavation, compaction, and foundation techniques.
7. Document inspection findings, including field notes, photographs, and test results, and prepare comprehensive reports for project documentation.
8. Conduct periodic site visits and inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
9. Participate in meetings with project teams to discuss progress, challenges, and potential mitigation measures related to geotechnical issues.
10. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering and construction industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience working as a geotechnical inspector.
3. Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
4. Experience conducting field investigations, soil testing, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring.
5. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing geotechnical aspects of Airport construction projects.
6. Proficiency in geotechnical software and data analysis tools.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
9. Professional licensure or certification in geotechnical engineering or related field preferred.
