We are seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst with expertise in various aspects of international trade regulations and logistics. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS), Schedule B, Harmonized System Code (HS Code), import compliance, and related areas. The primary responsibilities include ensuring that import and export transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations, evaluating documentation, reporting metrics for internal audit clearance accuracy, and assisting with corrective actions when necessary. The Trade Compliance Analyst will be involved in monitoring import and export transactions to guarantee conformity with legal requirements and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Ensure all import and export transactions adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Documentation Evaluation: Review and assess documentation related to international trade, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and import/export licenses.
- Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Schedule B: Utilize expertise in HTS and Schedule B classification to accurately classify goods for import/export purposes.
- Reporting and Metrics: Develop and maintain reporting metrics to assess internal audit clearance accuracy, duty, tax implications, and overall compliance performance.
- Corrective Actions: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify compliance issues and assist in implementing corrective actions to address them.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Monitor import and export transactions to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Customs Compliance Experience: Leverage previous experience in customs compliance to navigate complex regulations and requirements.
- Freight Forwarding Expertise: Utilize expertise in ocean and air logistics, international transportation, and e-commerce to facilitate smooth import/export operations.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with SAP and strong Excel skills are required for data management, analysis, and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trade compliance, freight forwarding, ocean/air logistics, international transportation, e-commerce, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, Harmonized System Code (HS Code), and other relevant classification systems.
- Extensive knowledge of import compliance regulations and procedures.
- Experience with reporting metrics and internal audit processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
