The Director of Research for the Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) will:
- Oversee the coordination, development, and quality improvement of research activities.
- Work closely with the EM residency program leadership to improve resident training and foster healthy intellectual dialogue.
- Assist EM staff/Core Faculty in efforts to improve faculty engagement in research and scholarly activities.
- Provide oversight of the research coordinator position.
- Lead maintenance and improvement of the research program.
- Assist the EM residency program director regarding compliance with RRC regulations.
- Work closely with Geisinger core research team to coordinate programs and projects that advance the mission of Emergency Medicine research at Geisinger.
This full-time position is split 40% research and 60% clinical. Education and experience (Required):
- Career emergency physician with proven research experience, including success in obtaining and leading federally funded or equivalent research.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical practice.
- Board certification in emergency medicine by ABEM or AOBEM.
- Experience in research mentoring and collaborative program building.
