Position Responsibilities:
- Frequent Standing, Occasional) Twisting at the waist, Walking, bending at the waist, carrying up to 35 pounds, Handling, lifting up to 35 pounds, Pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds, Pushing/pulling more than 35 pounds, Rotation of head/neck.
- Prepare railcars to be moved to unload position by unhooking railcars and releasing hand breaks. Direct transportation to facilitate the movement of railcars.
- Provide ground support during the movement of rail cars and/or oversized aircraft components. Ensure that area is clear of obstacles, vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
- Drive pilot and/or rear pilot car to escort seavan carrier, as required use radios to communicate.
- Switch rail direction by setting rail switch to appropriate position.
- Break seals on Railcars using hand tools (e.g., bolt cutters, grinders).
- Ensure that receiving inspection has pulled paperwork and given authorization to unload incoming freight, as required.
- Disassemble Shipping Mechanical Equipment (SME) support braces by removing appropriate bolts using air and hand tools (e.g., air impact wrenches, hammer, pliers, mallet).
- Move crane lift fittings, and accessories using electric stacker. Attach lift fittings for the movement of major airplane components using hand and power tools.
- Prepare empty railcars, seavans and containers for return shipping by backloading tools, sealing, locking, banding or strapping securely in place.
- Couple, uncouple associated equipment (e.g., dollies, railcars) to prepare for transportation movement.
- Assemble/attach fittings to Transportation Mechanical Equipment (TME) using hand tools (e.g., pneumatic wrenches, torque wrenches, impact wrenches).
- Work with crane crew to unload large Major Outside Production (MOP) items inside/outside the factory, as required.
- Load, unload trucks/trailers of SME's, TME's and/or MOP parts, as required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
- 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel
- Ability to lift 35 to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
