Job Title: Category Manager Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi

Job Description:

We are looking for a Category Lead who will play a pivotal role in defining the corporate procurement and commercial strategy for key categories of spend. You will lead the negotiation of key complex contracts and collaborate closely with business units or sectors to oversee the annual procurement planning process. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

Commercial & Sourcing Operations:

• Develop procurement plans and negotiation strategies for key spending categories with a primary focus on events in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Formulate targeted category strategies involving market analysis supplier profiles ICV opportunities benchmark pricing cost savings negotiation planning contract strategies and category execution plans.
• Negotiate complex contracts related to events Joint Ventures and IPs aligning with defined strategies and ensuring favorable terms.
• Review key contract terms establish performance measures and optimize commercial arrangements to ensure maximum value for money.

Shared Activity:

• Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems processes and practices considering global standards productivity improvement and cost reduction.
• Manage and ensure the effective implementation of functional policies procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned section activity.
• Adhere to departmental policies processes standard operating procedures and instructions for consistent and controlled work.
• Demonstrate compliance with the organizations values and ethics contributing to the establishment of a valuedriven culture.
• Contribute actively to Environment Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives adhering to policies and regulations to ensure a secure and ethical work environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Procurement or any other degree within relevant industry.
• At least 4 to 7 years of experience Sourcing procurement or any similar role.
• Commercially minded procurement professional who is an expert negotiator of complex contracts.
• Proven track of experience in the Events category and negotiating events Joint Ventures and key Intellectual Property aiming to deliver a wide range of cultural and tourist events and services helping drive the economy forwards.
• Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• UAE Nationals.
