- Conducting parent meetings to discuss student progress and any concerns with academic performance or behavior problems
- Developing lesson plans aligned with state standards and guidelines, including adapting materials to meet the needs of individual students
- Assisting in the development of individualized academic plans that meet the needs of each student based on their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and learning style
- Preparing class materials such as books, workbooks, educational materials, and other teaching aids
- Preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, including administering the test and providing feedback to parents regarding scores
- Teaching students new concepts and skills through hands-on activities and demonstrations
- Observing and monitoring student behavior in order to identify potential adjustment issues or disciplinary problems
- Recording grades and attendance records, and communicating with parents about their child’s progress
- Preparing materials for classroom instruction such as lesson plans, handouts, tests, and homework assignments
