Title: Network Operations Engineer - (SolarWinds/PowerBI)

Location: 2 Gateway Plaza, Newark NJ (Hybrid -Onsite 3 days Minimum)

Job Summary:

System administration, configuration, customization, and training for SolarWinds. Primary areas of expertise included system administration and configuration of NPM, NTA, NCM, and IPAM to manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. in support of the technology infrastructure specific to the support role of the NOC.

Individual contributor role; fully competent to work under general direction. knowledge of business or function for which application is designed. Integration with ServiceNow and other toolsets preferred.

Job Description:

•             Recommended, Design and Integrate monitoring solutions SolarWinds with ServiceNow

•             Experience with customized dashboards leveraging Power BI / SolarWinds SQL Tables a must

•             Perform requirements gathering necessary to design and build infrastructure/applications enterprise monitoring systems.

•             Perform analysis and make recommendation on tools design that meets industry best practice for monitoring and troubleshooting.

•             Perform the installation/patching of all required system software for the monitoring system.

•             Validate the system for functionality, performance, fault tolerance and operational readiness.

•             Work closely with operational support teams such as Network, Windows, and Security to provide a holistic monitoring solution.

•             Execute detailed network/server discovery, device monitoring, topology visualization, and

•             Assist with identifying root cause analysis (RCA) capabilities.

•             Identify issues, develop, and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (and be sure to communicate/alert stakeholders as needed).

•             Assist to make enhancements (SolarWinds) and troubleshoot issues as they occur.

•             Proactively put forward ideas that speak to project objectives (e.g., development, testing solutions, and tools).

•             Maintain runbooks, logs, and records in accordance with ITIL best practices via Service Now.

•             Stay on top of state-of-health monitoring and SLA targets.

•             Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Preferred skills:

•             3+ years of experience, working knowledge, with Monitoring and Observability tools. Subject Matter Expert SolarWinds monitoring solutions, components. (Required)

•             Hands on experience, tools integration, customization and support, (SolarWinds, ServiceNow)

•             Monitoring platforms, correlation engines, DataDog, Big Panda a Plus

•             Working knowledge of Syslog/SNMP v2/3 trap forwarding/receiving/configuration

•             Automation i.e., automating common repeatable tasks. Event/Alerts, Report - Solarwinds

•             Diagnose and solve complex technical issues.

•             Setting up monitoring profiles, polling policies and thresholds.

•             Platform management and administration of large-scale monitoring systems

DataDog, BigPanda a plus

•             Experience managing multiple monitoring tools; and integrations.

Qualification Requirements:

4 to 6 years’ experience directly related to  AIOps, IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure.
