Role Overview
Zutari is seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveMaterials Inspectorto support the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and built environment projects. The role is responsible for inspecting sampling and verifying construction materials and related works to ensure compliance with approved specifications project quality requirements and applicable standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with site supervision contractors laboratories and quality teams to help ensure that materials incorporated into the works are fit for purpose properly documented and aligned with project requirements. This role is important to maintaining quality reducing rework and supporting safe sustainable project delivery.
Responsibilities
Carry out routine site inspections sampling and testing of construction materials to confirm compliance with approved material submittals project specifications and relevant standards.
Inspect delivered materials review supporting documentation and verify identification certification and traceability before acceptance for use on site.
Identify record and report non-conforming materials and support the resolution process in coordination with the project team.
Witness and monitor sampling and testing activities for materials such as soils aggregates asphalt concrete steel water and utility-related products in accordance with inspection and test plans.
Inspect material-related aspects of civil and infrastructure works including roadworks concrete works reinforcement structural steel drainage utilities and associated components.
Review material storage handling preservation and protection practices at site stores laydown areas and stockyards.
Maintain accurate inspection records sampling registers testing logs and related quality documentation.
Support the preparation of site reports quality observations and non-conformance records where required.
Liaise effectively with resident engineers site engineers contractors laboratories health and safety teams and quality personnel to support coordinated project delivery.
Promote compliance with project quality health and safety and environmental requirements at all times.
Requirements
Diploma or degree inCivil Engineering Construction Technology Materials Engineering or a related field.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience on major infrastructure projects such asroads bridges tunnels water stormwater or utility networks.
