Junior Research Scientist in the Division of Science (Psychology) Dr. David Melcher

The Perception and Active Cognition (PAC) Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking an Emirati Junior Research Scientist for a 30-month position supporting a collaborative research project between NYUAD and the National Academy of Childhood Development (NACD) a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. Applicants with a background in psychology neuroscience linguistics and developmental psychology are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits.

This role involves on-site work across NYUAD and NACD facilities and focuses on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology neuroscience and linguistics. The ideal candidate will contribute to study design stimulus preparation data collection and data analysis working closely with NYUAD researchers and NACD stakeholders. The position also involves direct interaction with Emirati participants of all ages recruited through NACD requiring strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.

Candidates must hold a bachelors degree or equivalent though a masters degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with psycholinguistics strong computational skills and a background in developmental psychology or neuroscience. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience and interest in the Arabic language research child development and research involving local populations. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
