Head of Operations and Project Management

This role will focus on ownership of all 4EI day to day operations relating to projects, resourcing, production and staff line management. All areas combine to ensure that projects are carried out to a high level of quality and efficiency.

You will be coordinating  4EI  projects to ensure they are benefiting each other and aligning with overall business goals, including regular liaison between UK and UAE  offices.

Detailed responsiblities

1. Manage and develop projects, including (but not limited to):

   1. Designing and delivering project management plans.

   2. Ensuring delivery of projects as specified by client contract and according to budget and timescale.

   3. Planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing projects.

   4. Overseeing Project Managers’ management of project budgets. and cashflow, tracking costs to ensure projects are profitable, advising and assisting with initial projections and any issues.

   5. Signing off on costing calculations.

   6. Developing project delivery workflows  

   7. Ensuring adequate human resourcing and technical software and hardware for projects.

   8. Using Jira to manage resourcing and Project P&L.

   9. Developing relationships with clients through existing, regular communication, exploring their needs, delivering quality products.   

2. Ensure best quality geospatial data provision on all projects within the budget provision.

3. Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, quality and team member performance.

4. Owner of 4EI’s Quality and Environmental management for ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation.

   1. Responsible for undertaking internal, external audits and management reviews;

   2. Responsible for liaising with internal stakeholders and raising NCRs where appropriate, and implementing corrective actions

5. Gradual transition into line management of Project Managers, Technical Specialists and Machine Learning Engineer, including but not limited to:

   1. Communicating expectations

   2. Counselling and disciplining when not performing to expectations, or violating company policies

   3. Appraising performances and providing feedback informally and in annual appraisals

   4. Ensuring suitable internal or external training for direct reports and those reporting to them

   5. Recruitment of new staff

6. Provide timely input (technical, operational and resourcing) to leads, opportunities, bids, including costing, program, quality and specification input, and being aware and planning for incoming projects through communication with Commercial team, Project Managers and CTO.

7. Manage any 3rd party suppliers, vendors  and contractors, ensuring contractual paperwork and satisfactory ongoing performance of their services

8. Work with the CEO to develop business in the EMEA. Building relationships with local companies and government departments.

Necessary experience

• Previous Operations and General Management experience.

• Previous work in the Middle East (ideally UAE) to understand legal and cultural methods and practices.

• Previous work in GIS/Remote Sensing/Geospatial industries to understand the technical nature of our work.

• Ideally previous oversight of ISO accreditation.
