We are seeking a highly qualified Western-trained Consultant Pediatric Radiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for neonates infants children and adolescents. The successful candidate will interpret complex pediatric imaging studies collaborate with multidisciplinary teams ensure child-focused imaging protocols and contribute to teaching research and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Interpret and report pediatric imaging studies including:
    • Plain Radiography
    • Ultrasound
    • Fluoroscopy
    • CT
    • MRI
  • Perform and supervise specialized pediatric imaging procedures according to departmental privileges.
  • Provide expert imaging consultation for:
    • Neonatology (NICU)
    • Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
    • Pediatric Emergency Medicine
    • Pediatric Surgery
    • Oncology
    • Orthopedics
    • Neurology
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Advise referring physicians on the most appropriate imaging investigations.
  • Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy while minimizing radiation exposure according to ALARA principles.
  • Participate in consultant on-call and emergency radiology services as required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent).
  • Completion of Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
  • Fellowship/Subspecialty Training in Pediatric Radiology from a recognized institution.
  • Board Certification in Radiology.

Western Qualifications Preferred

Candidates holding one of the following are preferred:

  • UK CCT with FRCR
  • American Board of Radiology (ABR)
  • Canadian RCPSC
  • Australian/New Zealand RANZCR Fellowship
  • Irish CSCST
  • European equivalent specialist qualification recognized by local licensing authorities

These qualifications are commonly required or preferred by tertiary pediatric hospitals and international employers.

Experience

  • Minimum 35 years of post-board consultant experience in Pediatric Radiology.
  • Experience in tertiary childrens hospitals preferred.
  • Independent reporting across all pediatric imaging modalities.
  • Experience in neonatal and emergency pediatric imaging.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary pediatric practice.

Experience in one or more of the following is advantageous:

  • Neonatal imaging
  • Pediatric body imaging
  • Musculoskeletal imaging
  • Pediatric oncology imaging
  • Pediatric emergency radiology
  • Pediatric fluoroscopy
  • Pediatric interventional radiology
  • Fetal imaging

Licensure

  • Eligible for consultant registration with the relevant national licensing authority (e.g. SCFHS DHA DOH Abu Dhabi QCHP GMC).
  • Current unrestricted medical license.
