ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Leading in producing engineering products for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction to meet customer quality requirements.
- Complete detailed structural design calculations and analysis.
- Work independently and as part of a team to define problems establish work scope prepare budgets and schedules plan the work and provide technical direction and oversight.
- Prepare and check detailed engineering models drawings specifications quantities cost estimates and technical reports.
- Develop and review designs for new bridges and bridge rehabilitation.
- Provide expertise and services related to the evaluation inspection and rehabilitation of transportation structures.
- Review cost estimates specifications and tender documents prepared by junior engineers.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments including highway foundation environmental drainage and electrical.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients.
- Perform project management duties including assembling and managing project teams controlling budgets and schedules ensuring quality control and managing client interactions.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters Designers and less experienced Engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (.).
- Minimum 15 years of progressive design experience for municipalities/ clients projects involves steel and concrete bridge structures in MESA ;
- Must be able to lead detailed design and contract preparation together with team member and as self-directed manner ;
- Proficient user of structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge) ;
- Sound and in-depth knowledge in MTO standards and policies Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA-S6) AASHTO and ARIMA Codes
- Must be acknowledged as Bridge Expert with deepen network in this field ;
- Ability to provide construction liaison and act as Contract Administrator.
- Ability to review and sign-off of technical design reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sound understanding of other disciplines scope and ability to liaise.
