We are looking for a talented and versatile Features Writer to join our Business Group contributing high-quality content across a portfolio of leading B2B brands including titles focused on hospitality construction design energy finance and technology. This role is ideal for a curious and driven journalist with a passion for producing engaging insightful and original features that inform inspire and spark conversation among industry professionals.
As part of a fast-paced editorial team the Features Writer will be responsible for researching and writing compelling long-form features interviews trend pieces and analysis across print digital and social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of storytelling an understanding of B2B audiences and the ability to translate complex subjects into accessible and impactful content.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Research write and produce high-quality features news articles interviews and analysis tailored to the energy industry ensuring accuracy clarity and relevance.
- Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with the Editor to align content with the brands editorial strategy and vision contributing ideas for features and special content.
- Industry Research: Stay informed on the latest trends developments and key players in the energy sector including utilities oil and gas to ensure the content remains authoritative and insightful.
- Multi-Platform Writing: Adapt content for print digital and social media platforms ensuring tone and format are appropriate for each channel.
- SEO and Analytics: Optimize digital content for SEO and use analytics tools to track performance and make data-driven improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct interviews with industry experts attend events and liaise with key stakeholders to generate exclusive in-depth content.
- Audience Growth: Develop and execute ideas to grow audience engagement across platforms including newsletters social media campaigns and other initiatives.
- Deadlines and Workflow: Manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Event Coverage: Cover relevant industry events conferences and summits producing live coverage reports and post-event analysis.
Key Requirements:
- Writing Excellence: Proven ability to write engaging and well-researched features with strong storytelling and analytical skills.
- Energy Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the energy industry (utilities oil and gas) and its key players challenges and opportunities. Experience in B2B media is highly preferred.
- Editorial Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a journalistic or editorial role preferably within business or trade publishing.
- Digital Skills: Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) SEO best practices and social media platforms to distribute and promote content.
- Research and Analysis: Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex industry topics into clear and engaging articles.
- Adaptability: Ability to write across multiple platforms tailoring content to suit print features digital articles and social media posts.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in a team environment and liaising with editors designers and commercial teams to deliver exceptional content.
- Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Event Enthusiasm: Willingness to travel and cover industry events and conferences.
