Stormwater and Drainage Engineer
Role Summary:
Responsible for the planning design and management of stormwater and drainage systems to ensure effective water runoff control flood prevention and regulatory compliance in infrastructure and land development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis: Conduct stormwater modeling runoff calculations and flood risk assessments.
System Design: Design stormwater management systems including culverts detention/retention basins swales storm sewers and outfall structures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet local regional and national stormwater regulations and environmental standards.
Erosion and Sediment Control: Develop and review erosion control plans for construction sites.
Site Development Support: Coordinate with civil environmental and structural teams on drainage solutions for urban industrial and transportation projects.
Inspection and Maintenance Planning: Support construction and post-construction inspections; prepare maintenance strategies for stormwater systems.
Requirements
Experience Requirements:
Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g. StormCAD HEC-HMS HEC-RAS Civil 3D).
Proven work on infrastructure or land development projects involving stormwater planning and design.
Understanding of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and low-impact development (LID) practices.
