The Material Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction and maintenance materials used in Al Ain Municipality projects comply with approved specifications standards and quality requirements. The role focuses heavily on QA/QC control material testing approvals and compliance for civil maintenance works.
Key Responsibilities
Review approve and monitor all construction and maintenance materials in accordance with Al Ain Municipality standards project specifications and contract requirements.
Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures related to material inspection testing and acceptance.
Coordinate with approved laboratories for material testing (concrete asphalt aggregates soil steel etc.) and review test results.
Prepare and submit Material Submittals Method Statements ITPs and technical reports for approval.
Conduct site inspections to ensure proper handling storage and usage of materials.
Ensure compliance with ASTM BS AASHTO and local authority standards.
Identify non-conforming materials issue NCRs and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Liaise with consultants municipality representatives contractors and suppliers on all material-related matters.
Support maintenance works including roads pavements concrete repairs drainage and structural elements.
Maintain proper documentation material logs test records and QA/QC reports.
Assist in audits inspections and quality reviews conducted by the client or authorities.
Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
8 to 10 years of relevant experience in material engineering and QA/QC for civil maintenance or infrastructure projects.
Prior experience working on municipality or government maintenance projects in the UAE is strongly preferred.
Proven experience in roadworks concrete asphalt and structural maintenance materials.
Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems material testing procedures and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with Al Ain Municipality / Abu Dhabi local authority standards is an advantage.
