Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders within the Group across subsidiaries and international locations having Wealth, Private Banking, Digital, Liv. & Cost to draw and implement framework and govern/align all those setups on accounting, controls & performance matters
- Work closely with key stakeholders within the Wealth, Private Banking, Digital, Liv. business to ensure that management information produced remains relevant and aids decision making.
- Work closely with the Group Head of Finance- RBWM and Wealth, Private Banking, Digital, Liv. business heads in developing a robust and ambitious short term & medium-term plans covering all key opportunities and risks.
- Establish a planning framework which links to the strategy and enables modeling of key drivers of revenues, costs, balance sheet and their levers thereby facilitating accurate rolling forecasts.
- Proactively highlighting risk and opportunities to drive strategic growth of business and effective cost management.
- Continuous monitor, control, govern and challenge all Cost (internal as well as external) elements across various levels i.e. segments, products, channels, subsidiaries, international locations etc.
- Establish a framework for providing a clear and transparent Cost analysis across various levels.
- On-going review and formulation of accounting plans.
- Establish & maintain a robust value add & challenge process for business cases within efficient response times.
- Establish & maintain a robust post implementation review process for all material investments spends.
- Maintain close oversight on the control and reconciliation across Wealth, Private Banking, Digital, Liv. & Cost setups to ensure that the necessary financial controls are always maintained
- Pro-actively engage with the relevant business heads to identify and close potential control gaps
- Ensure efficiency and compliance to all Group Financial and Accounting policies and escalate and resolve all identified issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible in ensuring that support is provided for key projects/ initiatives supporting Finance’s strategy, changes in regulatory reporting (e.g. VAT) and accounting standards (e.g. IFRS changes) from RBWM Finance perspective.
- Ensure team members get fair opportunity to engage and participate in projects at group level from Fin RBWM perspective.
Education & Experience:
- A qualified accountant or an MBA with specialization in Finance
- Seasoned Finance professional with at least 12 + years of post-qualification experience in the Finance function of large bank with specific exposure in any business partnership role.
- Exposure to Retail Banking & Wealth Management business
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to have influencing interactions with senior management levels.
- Leadership skills to lead and motivate a team of finance managers.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently under demanding timelines within minimal supervision.
- Ability to motivate the team and influence decisions at senior levels. .
