he University of Sharjah is seeking an experienced scholar with a strong record of academic and administrative experience to serve as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA). The position of VCAA is one of the most senior academic positions at the University of Sharjah with the main responsibility of leading the academic activities to enhance the quality of undergraduate and graduate education through the promotion of excellence in teaching, enhancement of the student learning experience, the development of scholarship, and the promotion of effective student-faculty interactions. It is anticipated that the VCAA will begin duties on Spring Semester 2019/2020. The University of Sharjah is Not for Profit comprehensive institution with Medical and Health Sciences cluster and offer more than 100 academic undergraduate and graduate programs by 14 colleges to more than 15300 students from more than 95 nationalities. The University is renowned for having distinguished and dedicated faculty, a fabulous and scenic campus serving multiple locations and communities, and state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities. The VCAA should foster a vibrant and empowered learning community through a proven leadership style that evokes trust, welcomes collaboration, promotes shared governance and reflects confident decision-making. The VCAA has broad, delegated responsibility for the overall excellence and vitality of the University's academic life and its programs.
