Job Description

- Evaluating the condition of buildings and structures to determine if they are safe to occupy
- Conducting interviews with customers regarding concerns they may have with their utility services
- Inspecting residential and commercial buildings to ensure they comply with local codes regarding energy usage
- Inspecting utility equipment such as transformers, substations, power lines, and meters to ensure they are functioning properly
- Examining building plans and blueprints to determine construction specifications and compliance with building codes
- Providing information about utility rates and services to customers over the phone or in person
- Determining the cause of fires or explosions from gas leaks or other causes, then reporting findings to appropriate authorities
- Inspecting electrical wiring and circuits to ensure they meet safety standards
- Inspecting industrial facilities to ensure they are in compliance with environmental regulations
