RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Helping his line manager to ensure that all departments in Company Group are operating within the Sharia framework decided by HSA.
2. Assisting in reviewing and approving all activities, products and services (and related agreements) that will be conducted or executed by Company Group to make sure that they are in line with the resolutions of HSA.
3. Collecting the information and keep the records of the implementation of (and adherence to) any new HSAâs resolutions.
4. To assist in reviewing new policies and procedures to make sure that they are in line with the Shariâa compliance requirements.
5. To keep the records of providing advices in respect of Shariâa compliance to all levels and departments in company Group.
6. To assist in increasing Shariâa compliance awareness in company Group by providing the Shariâa Training Dept. with required information and support.
7. To assist his line manager to submit the Shariâa compliance reports.
8. To assist his line manager in the coordination with internal Shariâa Control Division departments regarding the improvement of work quality and keep constructive working relationships with Shariâa Consultations Dept. in order to achieve the overall objectives.
9. To Ensure satisfactory behaviour and attitude.
10. To comply with any additional tasks, which could be assigned by his line manger.
RESULTS REQUIERD:
11. Achieve high standards of behavioral competencies according to the competencies defined by the line management (as per the Assignment Performance Appraisal related to Team Member). Consult with line manager on the competencies below standards.
12. Keep a constructive working relationship with clients in order to achieve the overall objectives.
13. Maintain excellent teamwork environment and team spirit.
14. Achieve very good knowledge of company processes, policy & procedures and AAOIFI Shariâa standards.
15. Maintain very good efficient and professional oral and written communication skills.
Requirements
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
1. Bachler Degree in Shariâa, Islamic banking or equivalent.
2. CISSA and/or CIPA certifications (or alternative certifications).
3. Sound knowledge of banking and Islamic banking products.
4. Sound knowledge of AAOIFI Shariâa Standards.
5. High level of communication and presentation Skills.
6. Ability to balance between compliance requirement & business needs.
7. Fluent in English.
Previous experience required (if any):
(5-7) years of experience in Shariâa related functions in Islamic banking.
