Job Description

- Inspect all inbound scrap via tractor trailer and direct trucks where to dump load.
- As requested, assist in inspecting inbound scrap via railroad car.
- Spot check suspected radioactive cars or truck loads with handheld Geiger counter
- Spot check suspected off chemistry scrap with handheld Niton XRF machine.
- As requested, assist in tracking or isolating suspected scrap for off chemistry heats at the furnace.
- Notify material handler operators when loads are clear to add to existing stockpile
- Advise Production Supervisor or scrap yard operators when scrap has been cleared and they begin shearing/cutting/processing.
- Provide data needed to complete daily reports to the Clerk on the scrap yard side.
- Assist Production Supervisor in providing guidance to the general hourly workforce as needed.
