- Conduct deep-dive research and comprehensive literature reviews to establish a baseline understanding of the environmental costs associated with AI technologies, particularly during the training and inference phases.
- Develop and refine models to estimate the power usage and emissions of AI training processes, which often require substantial computational power and can vary significantly depending on the algorithms, data sets, and hardware used.
- Evaluate the energy efficiency of AI inference processes, which are deployed in operational environments, focusing on their long-term electricity consumption and operational carbon footprint.
