Job Description

- Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines
- Performs professional duties as a Radiologist or directs the performance of all function of diagnostic imaging in regard to film interpretation and procedures.
- Determines which radiological (imaging) and related service procedures are appropriate to undertake and when new techniques will be utilized. Co-ordinates with the Chief Technologist, the requirements and actions necessary to assure availability of special equipment and supplies.
- Participates in group conferences with other physicians for the purposes of case study from a group standpoint and offers opinions from the imaging standpoint
- Assures the adherence to proper safety precautions, infection control and radiation precautions for the protection of unit/division personnel and patients.
