Logistics Coordinator

Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Development Assistance Engineer to their Chicago Team!

Responsibilities:

• Provide general municipal engineering services for multiple clients
  
• Assist with negotiations for agreements and preparation of municipal budgets
  
• Prepare/submit permits for local municipal projects and assess needs for permits from other agencies
  
• Serve as part-time municipal staff engineer with needed
  
• Ensure development plans are compliant with local requirements (stormwater management, grading, sanitary sewers, water lines and transportation aspects)
  
• Use technical skills to provide recommendations for improvement
  
• Prepare written reports
  
• Perform QA/QC review to ensure projects meet standards
  
• Respond to inquiries from staff, developers and designers
  
• Prepare review procedures
  
• Coordinate construction notifications, start-up requirements and project closeouts
  
• Explain technical issues to non-technical municipal staff, officials and residents

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineer
  
• 3+ years of designing or reviewing development submittals
  
• EIT preferred with ability to receive PE License within two years
  
• Knowledge of basic principles/experience with stormwater management, water distribution, wastewater collection systems, transportation facilities (parking, roadway design, pedestrian/bicycle facilities), site/subdivision development design/review and site construction
  
• Experience working with local government staff/officials and outside permit agencies
  
• Requires travel throughout Northeastern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin using own transportation
