Responsibilities :
1. Coordinate work load and scheduling within a trade(s) sub-group of Engineering consisting of Carpenters, General Trades, Painters and Apprentices. Assist trades staff with troubleshooting and corrective action of structural and architectural issues, fabrication, installation and repair of fixtures, casework, furniture and flooring.
2. Train and develop trade staff knowledge base. Assist in development of PM procedures and schedules. Schedule and prioritize (if needed), carpentry and other general trades work with requesting departments. Ability to fill in for Engineering General Trades Manager or Operations Trades Manager.
3. Communicate effectively with Engineering and Trade staff Supervisors. Monitor and supervise assigned personnel in the execution of assigned tasks via the work request system. Monitor and supervise assigned personnel in the execution of assigned tasks via the building maintenance program. Schedule, monitor and supervise outside vendors in the execution of requested repair, fabrication and installation work in the main hospital complex and off-sites.
4. Schedule, monitor and supervise assigned personnel in the execution of monthly and quarterly fire and smoke door checks. Schedule, monitor and supervise assigned personnel in the performance of tasks related to Life Safety and Joint Commission compliance. Verify all required testing for any inspection agencies has been completed, logged and filed for future reference.
5. Research and plan outages for Operational and Construction related work. Interface with Construction Team when needed. Follow all Epidemiology controls and obtain permits when necessary. Work nights, weekends and Holidays for scheduled and non-scheduled situations that may arise.
Qualification :
1. A two year technical degree with/or five (5) years? experience in hospital facility maintenance and construction in related trade. State or local license preferred. Knowledge of all applicable standards and building codes established by Local, State and Federal Authorities preferred.
