Job title :Field Officer Data Management (Animals)

Job Description: As a Field Officer specializing in Data Management with an Animal Background, your primary responsibility will be to collect, organize, and analyse data related to animals, specifically focusing on cows, sheep, goats, and other similar livestock. You will work closely with farmers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date data collection. Your expertise in data management and proficiency in MS Excel will be crucial in maintaining organized records and generating insightful reports. This position requires a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices and a keen eye for detail. You will be an integral part of the data management team, contributing to the overall improvement of animal welfare and farm productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with farmers and veterinarians to identify relevant data points for collection and analysis.
• Conduct field visits to various farms and livestock facilities to collect data on animal health, reproduction, feeding, and other relevant parameters.
• Use appropriate tools and techniques to accurately record and organize collected data.
• Perform data cleaning and quality checks to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive databases of animal-related information using MS Excel or other data management software.
• Analyse collected data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in animal management practices.
• Prepare reports, charts, and presentations summarizing the analyzed data for stakeholders, management, and external partners.
• Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve animal health, breeding efficiency, and overall productivity.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in data management and animal husbandry practices to enhance data collection methods and techniques.
• Train and educate farmers and farm staff on proper data collection procedures and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data management, preferably in an animal-related context.
• Strong proficiency in MS-Excel and other relevant data management tools.
• Solid understanding of animal husbandry practices, including health monitoring, breeding, and nutrition.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to travel to various locations for field visits.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis software and techniques is a plus.

Knowledge of animal welfare regulations and industry standards is desirable
