Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental policy and procedures of the company;
  • Planning, preparation and coordination for successful execution of safety audits (Internal/External);
  • Assist with coordinating the establishment of ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems, including developing policies, assessing risks, drafting standard procedures, and overseeing implementation to ensure compliance and drive continual improvement in environmental and occupational health and safety practices for the certification purposes;
  • Providing support in CSR-related activities with a focus on waste management, circularity, and community engagement, including initiating initiatives, delivering on commitments, and assessing the impact to drive positive social and environmental change;
  • Supporting resource management efforts for electricity, water, and waste reduction to ensure achievement of designated KPIs within operational settings. This involves assessing potential initiatives, evaluating their applicability to operations, implementing feasible strategies, monitoring their impact on resources, and recording implementation efficiency to drive continuous improvement;
  • Provide support in HSE matters to production team, support functions, customers, suppliers, partners of the organization;
  • Conducting periodic training to all staff related to HSE policies and procedures;
  • Actively participating in tool box talks, conducting Safety Inductions and leading HSE briefing internal training sessions;
  • Involve in preparation and implementation of emergency response plans and coordination for conducting mock drills;
  • Identify and coordinate with the production team about potential risk involved in a job to avoid occupational injuries, near miss, accidents, environmental issues, property damage, etc and to take adequate preventive measures;
  • Regular physical monitoring as well as conducting periodic inspections of the AGSI premises to ensure compliance with the HSE policy of the organization;
  • Monitoring of employees regarding compliance towards PPE procedures of the company and reporting all the non-compliance to the Management;
  • Monitoring and guiding the departments towards waste management;
  • Periodic inspection and maintenance of fire systems like Fire pumps, Hydrant Raisers, Fire Cabinets, Flexible Hose Reel, Fire Extinguisher, Fire Detectors, Sounders, Emergency Lights, Fire Alarm Panel, etc.;
  • Period inspection of plant equipment’s, machineries and vehicles (EOT Cranes, Material Handlers, Bobcat, Mobile Crane, Forklifts, etc.);
  • Inspection of workers welfare facilities at plant premises;
  • Monitoring permit to work system;
  • Ensuring the activities related to HSE are according to the legal requirements of the local government authorities;
  • Basic first aid management;
  • Plays a key role in identifying the most appropriate solutions to business problems;
  • Preparation of Management reports. (Daily/Monthly/ Yearly);
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the Data;
  • Any other duties assigned by the HSE Manager.

SKILLS:

  • In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices;
  • Ability to assess and manage risks associated with workplace hazards, environmental impacts, and health and safety issues;
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement control measures;
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritize tasks to address immediate HSE concerns and long-term objectives;
  • Experience in incident investigation and analysis to determine the cause of incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence;
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and motivate HSE teams and drive a culture of safety and environmental stewardship;
  • Ability to provide guidance, support, and direction to junior HSE staff and other departments on health, safety, and environmental matters;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate HSE policies, procedures, and requirements to employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to deliver training and presentations on HSE topics and engage employees in safety awareness programs and initiatives;
  • Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, documentation, and correspondence related to HSE activities and performance;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of HSE issues and develop effective solutions and corrective actions;
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in cross-functional teams to achieve HSE goals and objectives;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with employees, managers, regulators, and external stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

  • Advanced Working Knowledge of MS Office & IMS systems;
  • 5-8 Years Work Experience in Similar Profile;
  • Result Oriented and able to Supervise a team effectively.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Engineering Degree in related field is preferred;
  • Graduation / Diploma- (Health and Safety or Mechanical or Electrical);
  • SPSA (Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority) qualified OHS Practitioner;
  • NEBOSH IDip or NEBOSH IGC;
  • Certification in Basic Fire Fighting, Basic First Aid, Appointed Lifting Person, Confined Space, etc.
