This is a remote position.
Trilogic are representing an IT MSP, d edicated to bringing you fully managed IT services, secure internet connections and cloud solutions as well as secure business communications. Due to exceptional growth, they're looking for an experienced 2nd line support engineer, working towards being 3rd line support.
The experienced 2nd line Support Engineer will provide high-quality BAU support and project work to a selection of clients within your designated team. As well as skilled 2nd line support, this role will involve working closely with the 3rd line infrastructure team as a bridge between the two groups. We are looking for someone who wants to progress, technically, into a more senior role, and is eager to put in the work and training to get there. Due to the bridging nature of the position, it is essential the right person will be on the cusp of that move, having had significant exposure to servers, network devices, and project work.
This role is available in traditional office-based or homeworking/office hybrid models. We will require you to travel to customer sites as needed and be available for our 24x7 remote support rota.
We expect all our team-members to be continually learning and developing their technical and soft skills. You will be fully supported by a comprehensive training package, bringing your skills up to the best possible level to support you in your new role. You will be required to pass professional certifications alongside attending internal and external training. In return, the successful candidate will have clear career progression into the senior technical team.
The role involves:
- Experienced/senior 2nd line BAU support in a fast-paced environment.
- Project work - desktop/infrastructure/Office 365/SharePoint.
- Desktop and server support on Windows, OS-X and Linux systems.
- Network support on routers, switches, firewalls and other networked devices.
- Software support for end-user applications.
- Documentation of work and systems.
- Answering and dealing with any support calls.
- Covering any roles during busy or short-staffed periods.
- Ensuring Datcom SLA s are met.
- Extended Hours Support cover.
Requirements
Essentials:
- Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop.
- Virtualisation technology ESXi/Hyper-V
- Azure AD and Office 365.
- Networking: troubleshooting of firewalls, routers, switches, wireless
- PowerShell
Desirable:
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- RMM tools
- Monitoring tools
- OS-X
- CentOS and Debian
Core Skills:
- Clear, confident and professional telephone manner.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Excellent personal and workload organisation.
- Be always willing to go that extra step for our clients.
- Be able to work and communicate effectively in a busy, close-knit team.
- Clean, full driving License.
