The Piping Systems Engineer is responsible for onshore and offshore pipeline design activities on proposals and projects, generally with support from specialist engineering contractors and/or from engineers/specialists within or outside the Planning and Piping Department.
Duties and responsibilities
As a member of the project team, he reports executively to the Head of Project Engineering or the Planning and Piping Project Leader regarding project activities/commercialization, in accordance with the implementation strategy and pipeline-related workload:
• Prepare the implementation strategy for the project with the project team and department head (including project scheduling) and ensure its implementation throughout the entire project life.
• Lead and coordinate the implementation of pipeline design activities through the proposal stages, feasibility/concept study through to the detailed engineering stages, with the support of engineers/specialists within or outside the Planning and Piping Department and the involvement of specialist engineering contractors (who participate in defining the scope of work and manage the technical interface) in case of scope Significant work, ensuring compliance with applicable contract requirements, valid codes, good engineering practices and collective document system (e.g. standards, procedures, work guidelines), and achieving given schedule and work hour budget constraints.
• Participate in estimating material and construction costs associated with pipeline activities.
• Ensure required assistance is provided to all project stakeholders, including bid and project managers, project monitoring, procurement, contracting, and commissioning.
